2013 - Mid Year Rankings: US Internet Social Media

YouTube leads with more than double the runner-up Buzz score, with 24.3 points to Pinterest’s 12.1. The video brand has managed to stay current by acting as a vehicle for major news stories – from the recent Paula Deen video apology to airing the premier of Dexter’s eighth season.

MySpace has been on an upward trajectory this year, since launching its redesign and a $20m ad campaign in January. The social networking brand has created a niche for itself as a center for artists and musicians, emerging with a redesigned website backed by Justin Timberlake’s new single, which users could stream on the website. BrandIndex data from June shows that the MySpace relaunch has accompanied a perception uptick among younger consumers.
