UK Buzz Rankings 2011

Welcome to the YouGov BrandIndex Buzz Rankings for 2011. The BrandIndex Buzz Rankings compares Buzz scores for more than 850 brands in 34 categories, to reveal the UK brands with the most positive Buzz in 2011.

All of these brands were rated using YouGov BrandIndex’s Buzz score, which asks respondents, "If you've heard anything about the brand in the last two weeks, through advertising, news or word of mouth, was it positive or negative?”. 2,000 nationally representative respondents are interviewed daily.

Amazon is the top ranked brand for 2011, heading up the overall Buzz list. They’ve overtaken both M&S and BBC from last year and are the only brand out of the three to have made an improvement year on year. The BrandIndex Buzz Ranking Top 10 includes five retailers (Amazon, M&S, John Lewis, Sainsbury’s and Waitrose), a TV network (BBC) and two technology leaders (Google and Apple). Two surprise entries in the Top 10 include Money Saving Expert, which went from strength to strength in 2011 benefitting from consumers continuing to tighten the purse strings, and Cathedral City which shows what a well-designed TV campaign can deliver when it reaches the watercooler.
