2012 UK Ranking

2012 - Top UK Index Improvers

The Index improvers chart ranks the brands with the highest increase in Index between January and June 2012 and the same period in 2011. The brands that have made improvements to their overall Index score, for the first half of 2012, are a mix between those that suffered negative PR in 2011and brands that have out-performed the market.

All of the brands were rated using YouGov BrandIndex’s Index score, which is an overall brand health measure – an average of the six measures of brand’s health: Impression, Quality, Value, Satisfaction, Advocacy and Reputation. BrandIndex interviews 2,000 nationally representative respondents daily.

British Airways, BBC iPlayer and BP are the top three improvers. After negative publicity in 2011, British Airways and BP have been able to weather the storm and show signs of recovery. Twitter is a brand that has significantly improved - by six points year-on-year.

Aldi & Lidl are the only two supermarkets in the Top Ten improvers ranking; there has been significant growth in the discount supermarket sector in the recession, amongst higher-income shoppers as well as more generally.
