Jeans dominate the apparel brand category with the best value perception by consumers leading into Black Friday.

Levi’s, Wranglers, Lees took three of the top five value perception spots in the ranking, while New Balance and Dockers occupied the remaining two.

Despite a legacy of controversial advertising campaign and stunts, American Apparel gained the most in value perception from one year ago. Dockers gained an equal amount of value perception over the same period, helping it land in the top five ranking.

Four out of 10 U.S. consumers report they will be spending the same on apparel this holiday season, while one in four will be spending less, and 14% spending more.

Methodology

The apparel brands were measured with YouGov BrandIndex’s Value score, which asks respondents: "Does it give good value for what you pay?" Results were filtered for respondents age 18 and over.
